4Tunate $4 Friends - amazing story of friendship

Honestly... I don't know Jen.  I did not receive the blessing of  meeting her at Blissdom 2010.  I do know Jessie and Mandi and Manda and Jill through the bloggy world.  And this form of love and under-girding and fellowship took me to my face this morning.  

But, many of you probably know Jen Murray, "Quatro Mama," from her wonderful blog 4Tunate or Twitter. She is the mama of 4 3-year-old boys .  Jessie commented on her blog today that Jen parents with grace.  Amen. We need grace to be able to parent the way He requires us to parent.

Recently, she and her family have experienced some trying times.  Her family has been struck by illness and struggles.  Her sweet friends have rallied around her and are asking for our help.  Honestly, their devotion to each other made me want to pitch in, but their dedication and hands and feet action for Jen made me want to blog about it and spread the word.  Friendships like this are rare. 

Their goal with this #4tunatefriends campaign is to fill Jen's freezer, refrigerator, and cupboards with food. ALL proceeds gathered will go to do just that!

my heart is breaking for Haiti

The devastation in Haiti is horrific.  Our sisters and brothers are hurting and need our help.  Some of us are not able physically or financially to travel to Haiti and help. 

Many of us are.  Many are en-route or are already there. 

My prayers and support are with the people of Haiti, their families, relief workers and anyone associated with being the hands and feet of Christ to our brothers and sisters.

We have Compassion children in India and Ecuador.  I would be devastated not knowing if they were safe in the midst of a natural disaster of this magnitude.

From long ago and far away

I have returned and my heart has been changed from far away.  I have returned to the land of the mildly sane and living.  I have a couple of posts up my sleeve... but until then, I wanted to share what has really been on my heart.  The only blogs I have stopped to read while cramming and dealing with the mayhem these past few weeks are these:

These are some of my favorite Bloggers to begin with, but what they have seen, experienced and shared with us has been nothing short of miraculous. 

More times than naught these past days, they have brought me to my humble knees and put me in my place.  We currently have a Compassion child, our son, Blas in Costa Rica, but there's no way that my heart can turn back from another child from India.  If you would like to join me, please do.  Just click on this link and look at these precious faces that need our help.  Seriously?  How prideful am I that I would think that I do not have enough and could not possibly be financially able to sponsor one of them?  I could not.  They have nothing compared to the wealth I live in.  The picture above is a picture the Bloggers took while visiting slums in India.  This sweet girl was so excited to show them her beautiful home.  It just slays me.
